Crowns inlays without impression

Crowns, inlays, bridges without an impression! How can this work?

Thanks to a special intraoral camera, with this we can produce crowns, inlays and even bridges without an impression. The camera records the surface structure of the teeth and digitizes it for further processing on the computer.

How does an intraoral scan work ?

The dentist cleans the tooth to be restored from caries or the old filling and grinds (shapes) the remaining tooth for the later crown, inlay, bridge. With the help of a special camera, a 3D image (intraoral scan) of the tooth and the opposing teeth in the mouth is made. Based on this digitalization and computer representation, the dental technician then manufactures crowns or inlays without an impression by means of computer design or by producing a 3D print model.

All-ceramic crown/inlay without impression

A special milling unit produces the work planned on the computer. and inserted into the mouth by us. In most cases, 2 appointments are necessary for this:

  • 1st appointment: The patient arrives.
  • The tooth is cleaned and ground by us.
  • From this situation in a short time a picture (intraoral scan) of the tooth to be restored is taken, and the correct tooth color is chosen. WITHOUT impression !
  • The crown/inlay/bridge is designed by the dental technician on the computer or, depending on the requirements, a digital model is produced from the 3D printer.
  • A milling unit produces the finished restoration from all-ceramic in the previously selected shade. The fabricated workpiece is then further processed and adjusted on the printed model, depending on the type of restoration.
  • 2nd appointment: We try the inlay, crown or bridge in the patient's mouth. Together with the patient we examine the shape and color in the mouth while smiling. If all fit criteria are met, the patient receives the work.
